Founded in 1970 under the name of Pinsonneault, Pothier, Bégin and Delisle, the firm has undergone a number of mergers to become Morency Attorneys, today’s partnership of 21 partners, 50 lawyers, and nearly 110 employees. Fields of Expertise

Tax law
Our business law team includes specialists in tax law whose expertise include income tax, sales taxes, property tax, and transfer law. Our experts ensure proper tax planning, and regularly intervene in tax disputes.
Intellectual property law
Our intellectual property law team advises our clients in matters of patent, trade mark, copyright, industrial designs, and trade secrets/ know-how. Our team handles all aspects of due diligence, registration, and management of intangible assets. Our advisors ensure the negotiation of licensing agreements, sales and distribution agreements, research and development agreements, joint ventures, turnkey agreements, and transfer of technology agreements. Our team distinguishes itself by the diversity of its members, some of whom have international experience. Our litigators are experienced both in presenting and defending against infringement claims.

Our team excels in providing first-class representation before all Federal and Provincial courts of law, as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada. Our team also regularly pleads before arbitration panels, both in Quebec and abroad.
Construction law
Our construction law team includes experts who are familiar not only with the law as it relates to construction, but also with all practical aspects of construction projects. Morency represents commercial and residential real estate developers, energy promoters, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, construction professionals, and individual property owners. Whether in the preparation and management of construction documentation, calls for and management of tenders, project execution or litigation relating to errors and/or omissions in design and construction, latent defect claims, and hypothecary recourses, our team is able to intervene rapidly and strategically. Environmental law
Morency is renowned for its expertise in environmental law. Our specialists often advise private companies and public organizations regarding environmental audits and evaluations. We represent our clients before all judicial and administrative tribunals. In this regard, Morency is familiar with the mission and procedures of the Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement (Public Environmental Hearings Office, or BAPE) and of various bodies involved in reconciling environmental protection with economic development.
Transportation law
In matters of transportation law, Morency intervenes before the Commission des transports du Québec (Quebec Transportation Board) and the Ministère des Transports (Quebec Ministry of Transportation). Our experts also argue before the Common Law courts on behalf of clients who have been deprived of personal transportation.
Labour and employment law
Morency has assembled a team of experienced litigators whose labour and employment law practice includes the negotiation of collective agreements, individual labour contracts, pay issues, and arbitration of grievances or disputes, health and safety matters, and accidents in the workplace. We act on behalf of employers in all these areas, before all levels of administrative tribunals and Common Law courts. Our expertise is recognized by the ministère de l’Éducation (Quebec Ministry of Education), as well as by the Fédération des commissions scolaires du Québec (Quebec Federation of School Boards) and the Fédération des cégeps (CEGEP Federation), which trust us to represent them during Provincial and local negotiations with union and labour organizations.
Charter of human rights and freedoms and the Canadian Charter of Rights
Morency’s litigators and legal experts advise and represent our clients whenever constitutional issues arise during legal disputes, especially with respect to the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Charter of Rights.
