Me Paquet has a bachelor of law degree from Université Laval and a diplôme d’études supérieures specialisées (diploma of specialized advanced studies, or D.E.S.S.) in law, health and ethics from Université de Rennes I (France).

PROFILE

Me Paquet practices in different areas relating to the health and social services network, from the administrative as well as the contentious angles, for a clientele mainly composed of establishments forming part of the health and social services network.

She has acquired considerable experience in hospital liability in matters of consent to treatment. She pleads regularly in front of the courts in these matters. She has developed a particular interest for the legal questions relative to the intellectual deficiency and mental health.

She acts regularly as speaker with various organizations, offers numerous training sessions, teaches at the École du Barreau du Québec and published numerous texts.

PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Me Paquet is the president of the Comité sur l’intégration sociale et la justice du Barreau de Québec and a member of the Groupe de travail en santé mentale et justice du Barreau du Québec. She is also a member of the research ethics committee (REC) of a university institute having the mission of a hospital center of psychiatric treatment and of the clinical ethics committee of a health and social services centre (CSSS).
